"IT TAKES A VILLAGE" (02/24/07)
As the saying goes, "It takes a village to raise a child." Then what does it take to support four soccer teams and coaches?
YOU!

The parents have really stepped up to volunteer for the many activities that go on in support of our teams. Thanks to everyone who has, or will, help out throughout the season: dinner events, communication, uniform and spirit wear ordering, distribution and collection, game announcing and ball kids. Special thanks to Paul Merkel, Mark Taylor, Hank Vitali and Diane Ritter for taking events and game day pictures. We are looking to add a parent or two to take JV game day pictures. Will someone step up to the challenge? Contact a board member if YOU can. Also, check out the Photo Gallery for player action.

THANK YOU BOOSTER CLUB MEMBERS! (02/11/07)
The Harrison Soccer Booster Club Board would like thank the numerous parents, old and new, for giving their time over the past several weeks to help launch the beginning of our soccer season. It takes an incredible amount of time and effort to ensure that uniform distribution, Pot Luck Dinner and Picture Day run smoothly and this could not happen without our tremendous parent volunteer base.

With 17 graduating seniors between the men's and women's programs several of our volunteers will be leaving after this season and it will be up to those remaining to carry on the tradition of excellence that is Harrison soccer. There are still opportunities to volunteer such as announcing, Senior Night and the End of Season Banquet. Thanks again for volunteering and we will see you at the games.

Now it is time to support our players and coaches and come out to watch some great soccer!

What a Week (02/11/07)
This has been a busy two weeks for the players, coaches, board, and parent volunteers...
  • We had about 100 players try out for positions on four teams!
  • We rostered a record-breaking 87 players!
  • Anita and her volunteers distributed almost all the uniform kits to those 87 players...a few are on their way (had to order extra uniforms)!
  • We had a successful Pot Luck Dinner for all the selected team players and their families. More pictures were added to the Photo Gallery and we now have 95 pictures posted from the dinner!
  • We survived Team Picture Day and pizza lunch. Take a peek at the pictures posted!
  • The Women's and Men's varsity teams are ranked #1 and #2, respectively, in the state by Eurosportscoreboard.com!
What an awesome place to be at the beginning of the season and a lot of hard work is yet ahead of us! GO HOYAS!

Orientaion Day: (8/10/06)
Thursday, August 10, 2006 was preview day for all students at Harrison High School. Students found old friends, met some new ones, and found many, many more students and trailers than last year! After students took care of PTSA membership, pictures, yearbooks, and fall schedules, they got to stroll around tables in the Dining Hall to preview various clubs and sports activities available in the year ahead. The soccer team and booster club were there to sign up any interested freshman. For the men's and women's teams we had almost 60 new recruits! We're looking forward to an awesome spring season and look forward to all interested players coming out to tryouts.

Welcome to the 2006-2007 Soccer Season! (posted Aug. 10, 2006)
The Harrison High School Soccer Booster Club would like to welcome you and thank you in advance for your support during the 2006-2007 soccer season.

Congratulations to our Varsity Men and Women 2006 Georgia AAAAA State Finalists! Both teams ahve also been back-to-back 2006 and 2005 Region 5AAAAA Champions!

We are looking forward to another successful 200-2007 year. Our primary goal is to support the soccer program, the coaching staff and the school administration here at Harrison High School. We also promote excellence in all of the athletic and scholastic endeavors of our players. Parental support is our key to a successful season. Soccer Club Boost Club members support the soccer organization, here at Harrison Hgih School by providing equipment, services, and facilities which are not provided by the school. It is with that resolve that we ask for your help and participation in the various soccer team committees and activities that provide the backbone for this organization and our student-athletes.

There are never enough volunteers and numerous opportunities exist for you to participate at whatever level you can contribute. Below is a brief overview of the major committees and their functions.

Membership: Coordinates membership drives, dues collections, and maintenance of team rosters.
Communications: Provides the intercommunication between the Booster Club Officers, coaches, school administration and our membership at large. Help is also needed for all four teams to act as announcer at all home games.
Hospitality: Serves as the social segment of our organization as they coordinate all booster sponsored banquet and press box activities such as team meals, the Pot LUck Dinner, the Annual Banquet dinner, and Senior Night.
Concessions: Responsible for the coordination, supervision, and scheduling of staffing of the concession stand at all home games.
Fundraising: Oversees our fund raising projects.
The student-athletes and Booster club really need your help for a successful season. Please see or call any executive committee member to volunter. Go Hoyas!
